Flat Acrylic Paints - XF Series - 23ml & 10ml
Here you’ll find all of Tamiya’s flat/matte acrylic paints (XF = Flat) in 23ml and 10ml jars with screw caps. All colors from XF71 onwards are only available in 10ml jars.
Tamiya X and XF acrylic paints are perfect for painting or airbrushing models.
The Tamiya paints stick easily to materials like polystyrene (PS), ABS, styrofoam, wood, metal, and other plastics and materials commonly used in plastic and RC modeling (except polycarbonate and bodies made from it!).
For better adhesion of Tamiya X and XF acrylic paints, a suitable primer can be used as a base.
Thanks to their high pigmentation, the colors cover really well and are also super easy and quick to mix.
For thinning Tamiya acrylic paints, it’s recommended to only use the original Tamiya thinner X-20A. You can get the thinner in different sizes: Tamiya 81520 X20A - 10ml, Tamiya 81023 X20A - 23ml, Tamiya 81030 X20A - 46ml, and Tamiya 81040 X20A - 250ml.
For airbrushing, it’s also a good idea to use the Tamiya Paint Retarder (87114), which slows down drying and helps give a really smooth finish once the paint is dry.
